Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports unveiled the school timetable for primary, secondary, and high schoolers during the holy month of Ramadan 2022.

Beginning April 4, the morning entry for primary school students will be postponed by 30 minutes while the leaving hour will be brought forward by 30 minutes as well.

Secondary and high school students will go to school from 8:40 a.m to 12:00 p.m and will resume classes in the afternoon from 12:30 p.m. to 15:50 p.m.

Classes will run for 45 minutes only, with five minutes between every class.

Students will also get a 30-minute break between the morning and the afternoon classes.

On Fridays, secondary and high school students will begin morning classes from 8:30 a.m.  and finish at 11:50 a.m.

Due to Jumuaa prayers, classes will resume at 1:40 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

With Ramadan around the corner, Morocco suspended daylight savings time and switched to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on March 27.

Moroccan astronomers forecast the holy month to begin on April 3 in Morocco but the Moroccan Ministry of Islamic Affairs is yet to assign crescent moon sightings to accredited astronomers to announce the official date of Ramadan.

Several international councils have now forecast that the holy month of Ramadan will begin on April 2 in the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

During Ramadan, up to two billion muslims across the planet fast between sunrise and sunset.

With the epidemiological situation notably improving, Morocco has yet to reveal whether Taraweeh will be allowed during Ramadan in 2022.
