Weather Alert: Morocco’s Weather Office Forecasts Snowfall on Tuesday

Rabat- Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has announced an “orange level” snowfall in several Moroccan provinces for Tuesday, January 25.

Rabat- Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has announced an “orange level” snowfall in several Moroccan provinces for Tuesday, January 25.

In its meteorological alert bulletin released earlier today, the directorate reported that the provinces of Azilal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, and Taroudant are expected to witness 20-40 cm snowfalls starting on Tuesday, January 25 at 3 PM until Wednesday, January 26 at 11 PM.

DGM also expects the provinces of Chichaoua, Errachidia, and Figuig to witness 10-20 cm snowfalls on Tuesday. 

As of January 24, the weather is cloudy with light rain recorded over Tangier, Loukkos, Gharb, Rif, Saiss, Oulmes, the western Mediterranean coast, and the Middle Atlas. 

DGM recorded minimum temperatures of -03/03°C in the Atlas, 03/08°C in the Rif, the north of the Oriental, the Saiss, Oulmes, South-East region, and 07/13°C in the northern and central Atlantic coast, Souss and the north of the southern provinces.
