Rabat – Abdellatif Miraoui, Morocco’s Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, and the Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son signed a Declaration of Intent to strengthen academic cooperation between Morocco and Vietnam.

On the sidelines of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Morocco-Vietnam relations, both representatives concluded a Declaration of Intent in a videoconference on December 15.

The declaration aims to promote cooperation and partnerships between universities from the two countries and establish a permanent dialogue through organizing an academic forum every two years.

The agreement also intends to launch joint calls for projects in higher education and scientific research in areas of shared interest.

During his speech, the Moroccan official highlighted “the historical depth of the cordial relations between Morocco and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.”

He also affirmed his commitment “to strengthen bilateral cooperation ties in many fields, including the development of scientific research, the exchange of university experiences, and the promotion of the mobility of students and professors-researchers.”

The Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Morocco Dang Thi Thu Ha, and the Ambassador of Morocco to Vietnam Jamale Chouaibi also attended the signing ceremony.

This year, Morocco and Vietnam are celebrating 60 years of official bilateral ties and are on a path to further reinforce their cooperation in various fields. Throughout the years, both countries have shown their willingness to benefit and learn from each other’s experience.

Last month, Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha expressed her readiness to seize all opportunities bringing the two countries together, as part of the partnership and cooperation mechanisms between them.

Morocco and Vietnam are known to be major players in their respective regions that have been on a steady path since gaining their independence.
