Rabat – The Moroccan speaker for the House of Councilors, Naam Miyara, highlighted, Thursday November 4 in Rabat, the importance of promoting bilateral relations with Vietnam, in order to consolidate the strong diplomatic ties between the two countries.
During a meeting with the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,Dang Thi Thu Ha, Miyara insisted on utilizing all opportunities available to the two countries, to further strengthen economic relations and encourage visits between representatives from both countries.
The President of the House of Councilors applauded the satisfactory relations between Morocco and Vietnam, which are based on a long history of mutual respect, cooperation and coordination.
He also shed light on the importance of joint parliamentary action, so as to nourish the ties between the legislative institutions of the two countries, as well as to reinforce the cooperation of the House of Councilors with regional parliamentary unions in Asia.
Naam Miyara addressed the issue of Morocco’s territorial integrity, commemorating Vietnam’s position which supports the United Nations’ efforts to settle the dispute around the Western Sahara, and insists on the relevance and credibility of the Moroccan autonomy plan.
Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha expressed her eagerness to seize all opportunities bringing the two countries together, as part of the partnership and cooperation mechanisms between Morocco and Vietnam.
“The geostrategic location of the two countries is a favorable factor for consolidating and strengthening bilateral relations at different levels,” said Dang Thi Thu Ha.
“Vietnam will benefit from Morocco’s strategic position in Africa to develop its relations with African countries, as will Morocco with South-East Asian countries,” she added.
Both Morocco and Vietnam showed a willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation in political and diplomatic fields, while maintaining a place of mutual support for their respective positions in national and international affairs.
This year, the two countries are celebrating 60 years of official bilateral ties, both being major players in their respective regions that have been on a steady advancing path since gaining their independence.
The future for the two countries looks to lead to many more years of strong cooperation and excellent opportunities in various fields.
