Rabat – The Bab El Kebir gallery in Oudayas Rabat is hosting an exhibition titled “Art across three generations,” a collaboration between artists Abdelhadi Benbella, Imane Feriani and their guest of honor Jean-Baptiste Valadie.

According to a statement from the organizers, the exhibition presents artworks representing the world of artists, the world of dreams and daring.

The gallery is hosting the exhibition from October 2 to October 18, with support provided by the national Ministry of Culture and Communication.

Imane Feriani, a headlining artist, presents various forms of womanhood in her artworks through different mediums.

The artist describes her work as the result of“encounters with iconic strong, beautiful, hopeful, bold, courageous women.”

“I paint what the woman is, what she wants to be and what she is capable of becoming,” said the painter in a press release promoting the exhibition.

The younger generation of artists is represented by Abdelhadi Benbella, whose paintings are described as “masterfully freezing time and space.”

According to Benbella, he intends to break free from conventional art practices and let his talents guide him through his journey according to his own will.

The exhibition’s guest of honor, Jean-Baptiste Valadie, began his artistic career in Paris at the Cours Charpentier, in Montparnasse. He is renowned in the art world for being a painter, sculptor, engraver, draughtsman, lithographer, and illustrator,

A great traveler, he signed his first exhibition in Dakar, Senegal in 1956. Numerous exhibitions followed, in France, Japan, Taipei, and Singapore.

Valadie’s paintings stimulate the viewer’s mind by discussing passion, emotion, and dreams. “You never choose Valadie’s paintings, they choose you.” concluded the press release.
