Rabat – Morocco’s national health authorities have registered 1,555 new cases in the last 24 hours.
The national vaccination campaign is getting closer to completion, as Morocco reaches its goal of vaccinating the majority of residents against the virus.
18,854 people received their second dose of the vaccine today, September 19. This brings the total number of fully vaccinated individuals to 17,429,646, while 21,006,394 have been administered their first dose.
The country detected 1,555 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 919,681 cases, with 23,616 active cases as of today.
Authorities conducted 15,547 new tests in the past 24 hours, and the national positivity rate is at 10%, slightly lower than that of recent weeks.
Regionally, Rabat-Sale-Kenitra is back as the region with the highest number of new cases, registering 761 new infections and 8 deaths over the past 24 hours.
The Casablanca-Settat region recorded 296 new cases, and 8 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Health authorities reported 34 new deaths nationwide, bringing the total to 13,910 deaths, while the fatality rate remains stable at 1.5%.
With 2,064 recoveries announced in the past 24 hours for a total of 882,155 recovered patients, the remission rate slightly rose to 96%.
The number of severe or critical cases decreased to 1,444. The occupancy rate of the resuscitation beds dedicated to Covid-19 has also significantly dropped, currently sitting at 27,6%, having dropped significantly this week.
101 new severe or critical cases were admitted in the last 24 hours, with 46 being admitted under intubation and 730 under non-invasive ventilation.
