Rabat – Moroccan football star Achraf Hakimi has featured in the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 Team of the Season.
The National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) unveiled the team of the season on Sunday during its trophy ceremony held in Paris.
In addition to Hakimi, three other PSG players were featured as part of the team, including superstars Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Nuno Mendes.
The list also included Brice Samba from RC Lens, and his teammates Kevin Danso, Seko Fofana, and Lois Openda.
Chancel Mbemba from Olympique Marseille and his teammate Velntin Rongier also made it to the list along with Khephren Thuram from OFC Nice.
In addition to being part of the team of the season, Mbappe was also voted as the Best player in Ligue 1 for the season.
RC Lens’ Franck Haise, meanwhile, clinched the prize for Best Coach of the Season.
Hakimi featured in several similar lists curated by renowned sports news outlets, including L’Equipe and Marca.
Earlier this month, Spanish news outlet Marca featured the Atlas Lion as part of its world’s best team.
FIFA also named him among the Men’s World 11, a selection of “exceptional performers in their respective positions.”
In January, Hakimi received the “Best Arab Sportsman” award at the Joy Awards ceremony in Riyadh.
He was also among the 2022 men’s world team of the year, put together by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHs).
