Rabat – Issawi Frej, Israel’s Minister of Regional Cooperation, and Gideon Sa’ar, the Israeli Minister of Justice, are expected to visit Morocco on Sunday and Monday, respectively, Israeli news outlet i24news reported today.
Arab-Israeli politician Frej will pay an official visit to Israel’s liaison office in Rabat between July 24 and 28.
Morocco is a “model of cohabitation between individuals of various religions,” i24news quoted Frej as saying, adding that his visit will be an opportunity to “develop common initiatives in the fields of culture, communication, and sports.”
Alongside Frej will be a delegation of Jewish and Arab Israeli women journalists, who will participate in a regional forum the Minister of Regional Cooperation created to “strengthen the voice of women in media.”
Meanwhile, Sa’ar will arrive in Morocco on Monday, July 25 to begin a four-day visit that will focus on legal cooperation between the two countries, a first since the re-establishment of diplomatic ties between Morocco and Israel.
As part of Sa’ar’s visit, the two countries are expected to sign a cooperation agreement in the area of judicial and legal cooperation, added the Israeli news outlet.

The two ministers’ visits, which are another opportunity for Morocco and Israel to deepen cooperation in different fields, come days after the first official visit of Israeli military chef Aviv Kochavi to Morocco.
Kochavi met with several Moroccan officials, including Abdellatif Loudity, Morocco’s Minister Delegate in charge of National Defense management.
Both officials reaffirmed Morocco and Israel’s determination to boost military cooperation and exchange expertise in several fields.
