Rabat – Sultan Moulay Slimane University (USMS) in Beni Mellal, is officially the first university in the country to approve the electronic signature of diplomas.
The USMS, which is ranked 7th among Moroccan universities, issues several thousand diplomas each year.
“With electronic signatures, the university will now be able to sign multiple diplomas at once,” said the university in a statement to Morocco’s state-owned media agency.
“This is a major operation which constitutes a performance engine, generator of resilience and motivation of users in terms of the use of information and communication technologies,” added the USMS statement.
The operation should be preceded by a thorough verification process, according to the same source, which also specified that the National School of Applied Sciences of Khouribga was officially chosen as a pilot establishment for the launch of the initiative.
The generalization of the procedure should be carried out gradually before the end of the current academic year.
