Rabat – Morocco defender Redouane Halhal said the Atlas Lions have shown they can win games in different ways after securing a 1-0 victory over Scotland in their second Group C match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking after the game, Halhal stressed that there are no easy matches at this stage of the competition and insisted Morocco will aim for another victory in their final group game.
“Right now, there are no easy games. We play to win, and if we had to win all three matches, we would. We have one win and one draw, and we will go for victory again in the third match, God willing,” he said.
Halhal admitted that Scotland proved to be a difficult opponent because of their defensive approach and physical strength.
“We knew it was going to be a very tough game against a team that sits deep and has quality players with strong physical attributes. We also knew they would rely on long balls in the last 10 or 20 minutes to create one-on-one situations,” he explained.
The Moroccan center-back highlighted the team’s ability to adapt to different situations and credited the players’ mentality for the result.
“The good thing about our team is that we know how to win matches in different ways. We had an excellent first half and pressed them inside their own half,” he said.
“We know how to win mentally, tactically, and technically. That is the most important thing.”
Morocco now sits top of Group C with four points after two matches and is unbeaten heading into their final group-stage encounter.
