Rabat – Morocco has recorded 109 COVID-related deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities due to the pandemic to 12,649.
The Moroccan Ministry of Health also reported 4,899 new COVID-19 cases. This brings the country’s total number of infections since the start of the COVID-19 crisis to 860,948, including 793,607 recoveries.
Over 5,813 people recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In total, Morocco now counts 54,692 active COVID cases, including 2,397 people in critical conditions.
In terms of regional distribution, Casablanca-Settat remains Morocco’s hardest hit region, recording the highest number of cases and deaths (25) in the past 24 hours.
Rabat-Sale-Kenitra, which comes second in Morocco’s regional COVID mapping, reported 613 cases and 21 deaths in the past 24 hours. Following was the Tangier-Tetouan- Al Hoceima region, with 535 new cases of infection and 12 deaths.
As of August 31, Morocco is home to 14,780,868 fully vaccinated and 18,539,073 first dose-vaccinated people.
