AirBaltic Launches First Direct Flight From Marrakech to Riga

Latvian airline airBaltic launched direct flights between Marrakech and Riga, Latvia on October 31. The cities are now connected with two weekly flights, making this airBaltic's first African destination.

AirBaltic Launches First Direct Flight From Marrakech to Riga

Rabat- Latvian airline airBaltic launched direct flights  between Marrakech and Riga, Latvia on October 31. The cities are now connected with two weekly flights, making this airBaltic’s first African destination.

The flights between Marrakech and Riga are operated by the Airbus A220-300 aircraft and are scheduled to take approximately five hours and 15 minutes. A complete schedule of airBaltic flights and tickets for the new destinations are available on the company’s website.

President and CEO of airBaltic Martin Gauss said in a press release: “We are glad to launch the new airBaltic route today. Riga is a vibrant and dynamic city with a lot to offer to both business and leisure travelers.”

Gauss continued naming the Baltic states as a “key business center…and also a convenient transfer hub with further connections within our wide network of routes in Scandinavia, Western and Central Europe, and beyond,” he added.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the launch, Pauls Calitis, Chief Operations Officer at airBaltic said: “We are excited to launch our first ever scheduled route to Africa. Marrakesh or the so-called Pearl of the South is both an exotic and warm destination, and an important center of economics, also for Latvia.”

Latvian airline airBaltic offers low fare tickets in its network spanning across Europe, Scandinavia, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Middle East.
