The reforms carried out by Morocco have promoted the business climate and foreign direct investments, Minister of Industry, Trade and New Technologies, Abdelkader Aamara, said on Thursday in Casablanca.
These reforms are likely to encourage investment, the Minister added at the opening of a forum on entrepreneurship cooperation between Morocco and Catalonia.
Morocco has succeeded, in a context of the international economic crisis and major changes in the Arab world, to establish stability and democratic progress, reinforced by the adoption of a new constitution and the election of a new government, he said.
He also recalled the various projects undertaken by Morocco, in particular the infrastructure and facilities meeting the requirements of economic development such as Tangiers Med port in addition to sectorial plans in tourism, industry and agriculture.
Morocco is now a platform for business and a gateway to markets in West Africa, the Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Youssef Amrani, noted, inviting Catalan entrepreneurs to join their Moroccan counterparts in this challenge.
Morocco’s dynamism is reflected in various sectors including public works and infrastructure thanks to a commendable effort in sectors such as renewable energy, car industry and food processing industry, he noted.
The president of the autonomous government of Catalonia, Artur Mas, reiterated determination to strengthen ties of cooperation with Morocco in the economic field, as shows the Catalan delegation which includes 200 businessmen.
