Rabat – The 6th edition of the International Festival of University Theater will be held in Marrakesh in April 24-27 with the participation of theatrical groups from several countries, such as: France, Estonia, Turkey, Belgium, Italy, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya; in addition to the host country, Morocco.
The festival will provide a space for cross-cultural dialogue and exchange experiences and expertise between the participating youth, the university professors and the artists, which will enable the students who are interested in this field to observe and learn the new methods used in the entertainment industry. It will also provide an international stage for the students to show off their artistic and creative potential in front of a large audience.
The festival, which is organized by the Faculty of Juridical, Economic and Social Sciences of Cadi Ayyad University, aims at the formation and refinement of the participating talented students at the festival to deepen their artistic experience through lessons and workshops on theater.
University theater groups from Agadir, Casablanca, Tangier and Marrakesh will represent Morocco in this year’s edition.
It will also be an occasion to honor two Moroccan artists for their great contribution in Moroccan theater and art scene in general: Mohammed Derham and Souad Saber.
The program of the festival includes: theatrical performances, workshops for the participating students, as well as a seminar which will be held by a group of professors and researchers in the field of theater.
