Cadiz, Nov 16, 2012 (MAP)
Morocco’s participation in the 22nd Iberian-American Summit in Cadiz will contribute to reinforcing partnership ties between the Kingdom and the grouping’s countries, Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani said on Friday.
Morocco, which takes part in the meeting for the first time as an observer country, attaches a huge importance to its relations with Hispanic states as Spain and Latin American countries, El Otmani told MAP news agency.
The goal of such participation is to promote cooperation ties politically, economically and culturally, he said, recalling that the Kingdom has common matters of interest with member states of the Iberian-American conference.
He added that the conference is an ideal occasion to make contacts with officials from these countries to foster bilateral cooperation.
Morocco’s presence in this event will contribute to enhancing cooperation with Spain, he noted, saying that ties between Rabat and Madrid witnessed a noteworthy evolution thanks to fruitful visits by officials from both sides and the holding of the high-level joint committee last October.
