The sparse moments slip through my fingers
Like precious pearls that lose their gleam
As I linger
As I dream

In that old cracked mirror I so disdain
I see thee
Frail frame in a shabby attire
Pallid eyes with no whim and no desire

As I try to walk amid the crowd
The shuddered pieces pierce my skin
And I bleed again
And time elopes
Grain by grain

Some morbid sounds
Come from nowhere
And stride around
And the remote echo of this mourning soul
Shedding tears in vain
Fills my spirit with awe and my heart with pain
And time, the silent witness
Passes me by
