Conakry – Moroccan minister of foreign affairs and cooperation Salaheddine Mezouar said the package of 21 agreements signed on Monday between Morocco and Guinea-Conakry under the chairmanship of King Mohammed VI and Guinean president Alpha Condé, is “a record in terms of conventions concluded between Morocco and this sister country.”

“All the conventions correspond to the Guinean government’s priorities in fisheries, sea products processing, fish unloading spots, fishing villagers, water, electricity, housing, development of industrial activities zones, vocational training and other sectors for the development of youth potentials,” Mezouar told the media.

He added that the diversity of conventions confirms the closeness of bilateral ties, noting that “the King came here as a brother and has been welcomed as a brother.”

The Sovereign believes strongly that Africa and Africans are able build a better future, said the Moroccan FM who also pointed out that HM the King’s first visit to Conakry “will confirm once again the depth and sincerity of relations, and, above all, will mark a new start in relations between the two countries.

The official further reiterated Morocco’s resolve to bring “all its know-how, expertise and the dynamism of its public and private sectors to participate in the great construction work that President Alpha Condé is conducting for the Guinean society.”

“Guineans, President Alpha Condé and the Guinean Government will always find HM the King on their side,” he concluded.
