Fez – An Italian appeals court reversed on Friday the conviction of Italian former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi concluding the so-called “Robi Gate” scandal.
The Milan court of appeals overturned the conviction in June last year of Berlusconi by a lower court which had sentenced him to seven years in jail a lifetime prohibition on the exercise of political action.
The story revolves around Kharima El Mahroug, the 21-year-old night club dancer, known by her stage name “Ruby the Heartstealer,” who was one of the guests invited to attend “Bunga Bunga” Berlusconi concerts. At the time, she was 17 years old.
Berlusconi had been accused of both paying for sex with a former teenage club dancer and abusing his authority by ordering her release after being detained by the police on charges related to theft.
