Rabat – Maroc Telecom, Morocco’s main telecommunication company in, has successfully tested 4G with the establishment of a pilot site and the results are “very convincing.”
The company said that the pilot site “gives us a preview of volumes that will be available to users with the speed measured at over 140 mbps.”
Rabat is the first city in which the pilot site 4G- LTE (Long Term Evolution) was deployed and the service will soon expand into other cities.
Currently, the operator offers customers 3G + with speeds up to 42 mbps; however, with 4G, the Internet speeds are estimated to be more than 140 mbps.
The high-speed service is expected to launch once the company obtains the marketing licenses of 4G from the Telecommunications Regulatory National Agency (ANRT).
