New York – American comedian and host of his own show “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” made one of the biggest mistakes of his life while hosting the Miss Universe 2016 pageant on Sunday night.

During the most important moment of the competition when the winner gets called, Harvey get confused and named the wrong winner in front of a live audience and millions of television viewers.

The 58-year-old West Virginia native called Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner of the Miss Universe.

Ariadna celebrated her win amidst cheers, applause, tears of joy, smiles, and her first walk as the world’s beauty queen wearing the highly-acclaimed crown.

However, it was not until moments later that Steve interrupted the celebration and said that there had been a mistake and the actual winner of the Miss Universe was Miss Philippines and not Miss Colombia.

Miss Universe 2014, the Colombian Paulina Vega had to remove the crown from her fellow Ariadna Gutierrez and crown Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo, while both women stood speechless.

The 64th Miss Universe pageant was filled with confusion, shock, booing, and the biggest mistake in the history of the show.

Harvey took on to Twitter to apologize for the humiliating error, yet no apology can fix the pain he caused to these women whose memorable day turned into a nightmare.

“I want to apologize emphatically to Miss Philippians and Miss Columbia. This was a terribly honest human mistake and I am so regretful,” Steve Harvey tweeted from his official account @IAmSteveHarvey

Steve Harvey could benefit from a reading class, a stage presence class, a geography class, and a grammar class because he continues to make unforgettable mistakes.

The names of the countries are Colombia not Columbia and Philippines not Philippians.

After social media users began to attack his errors via different networks, Harvey has kept posting on his Twitter regarding his mistake.

“I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible,” he said.

“Secondly, I’d like to apologize to the viewers at that I disappointed as well. Again it was an honest mistake,” he added in another tweet.

“I don’t want to take away from this amazing night and pageant. As well as the wonderful contestants. They were all amazing,” Harvey stressed.
