New York – French police have identified the third suicide bomber involved in the terrorist attack at the Bataclan theatre in Paris on November 13.
Authorities have confirmed that French-national of Moroccan origin, Foued Mohamed-Aggad was the third killer in the Bataclan carnage.
Aggad lived in the city of Strasbourg, France. His mother is from Oujda, Morocco, according to AFP.
Two out of the three terrorists that stormed Bataclan had been identified by the authorities in the days following the attacks. The third killer’s name remained unknown until now.
“Foued Mohamed Aggad was identified late last week by comparing his DNA with that of members of his family,” a source close to the investigation told AFP.
The suicide bomber joined the so-called Islamic State in Syria in 2013, along with his brother and ten other young men who were radicalized and recruited by the terrorist organization.
Out of the group of recruits with Aggad, two brothers died in Syria, and seven others returned to France in the spring of 2014, including Foued Mohamed’s brother, the same source noted.
The jihadists were detained by French authorities in May 2014 and imprisoned, while Aggad remained free, eventually becoming part of the suicide bombers of the Paris attacks.
According to Aggad’s Facebook profile, he posted a photo of himself in 2014 in what looked like the desert, wearing the jihadist-customary outfit.
The three suicide bombers stormed the Bataclan music hall during a concert by U.S. rock band “Eagles of Death Metal,” killing 90 people. The attack was part of a series of coordinated terrorist attacks that claimed 130 lives and injured 350 others.
The names of the first two killers at the concert venue were Ismail Omar Mostefai, 29, a French-national and Samy Amimour, 28, born in Paris.
