Rabat – Saudi Arabia’s King Salman arrived Thursday in Tangier for a private visit and was received at the Ibn Battuta airport by President of the House of Representatives Talbi Alami and the Governor of Tangier-Tetouan region Mohamed Yacoubi, among others.
King Salman is expected to celebrate the wedding of his son in Tangier where the related festivities will span throughout the summer month between July 12 and August 12.
Upon arrival, King Salman was accompanied by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Finance Ibrahim Bin Adulaziz Al-Assaf, a number of princes, and civil and military.
The King of Morocco Mohammed VI, Princess Lalla Salma, and other high-ranking officials of the royal family are expected to attend the royal wedding. The ceremony will embrace the cultural customs of Saudi Arabia and will incorporate Moroccan influence.
Saudi Arabia’s king has visited the north of Morocco many times and is expected to extend his visit after the weeding.
