Rabat – Renault Maroc secures its leadership in the Moroccan market by providing a portion of 36.9 percent of the market share with Dacia and Renault cars.
The French group based in Tangier, Morocco has revealed its sales for the first eight months of 2016. The automobile giant has supplied an important portion of the Moroccan market with a record of 39,674 vehicles.
According to the French news website, La Nouvelle Tribune, Renault Maroc has sold 3,961 cars in August alone, reaching a market share of 35 percent.
2,825 units out of the total number of cars sold in August are Dacia cars owned by Renault. This figure represents 25 percent of the automobile market share and a rise of 6.5 percent in sales compared to the same period last year.
Renault cars secured ten percent of the local market share by selling 1,136 vehicles in August 2016.
Renault’s statement, cited in the same news outlet, also uncovers the total sales of the company in the first 8 months of the current year.
Dacia has sold 28,327 cars, which represents a 26.4 percent dominance over the market share. Renault has supplied 11,347 cars in the same time span to 10.6 percent of the total automobile market.
This adds to the success of the automobile market in Morocco. Renault Maroc’s Tangier factory has exported 130,000 cars in the first 6 months of 2016 to different European countries as well as to Tunisia and Egypt.
