Rabat – Since winning Presidency, Donald Trump has retreated on some proposed policies, but the new US President-elect stands firm on mass deportation.

Donald Trump will deport up to 3 million illegal immigrants upon taking office.

In his first television appearance after winning the US Presidential election earlier this week, Trump affirmed his earlier commitment to mass deportation of illegal immigrants when asked about immigration policy.

“What we are going to do is get the people who have criminal records – gang members, drug dealers – we have a lot of these people, probably 2 million it could even be 3 million. We are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate.  But we are getting them out of our country, they are here illegally,” he said in a televised interview with 60 Minutes.

Trump further added that he will ensure that their borders are secure and reinforced his desire to build a wall along the southern border.

Though he promised a grand wall, he has retracted such desires, suggesting that the 1,900-mile divider will be a combination of fencing and wall.

Trumps comments are in contradiction with those of Senior Republican, Paul Ryan, who said that. “We are not planning on erecting a deportation force. Donald Trump’s not planning on that,” he told CNN.

Mr Ryan ensured civilians that the man focus was border security saying, “We’ve got to know who’s coming and going into the country.”

Contradictions and differing discourse appear to be a common theme as of late. With Trump going back on various policy promises, such as repealing Obamacare.

Demonstrations have swept the country since Trump took Presidency, with many American citizens fearing the dawn of a racist and bigoted period in America. Trump’s victory has already bolstered white supremacy, with hate crimes reaching new heights in the United States.
