Paris – France on Tuesday reiterated its position on the issue of the Western Sahara, in southern Morocco, stressing that the autonomy plan is a serious and credible basis for a negotiated solution.
“The position of France on this issue is well-known and constant,” spokesperson of the French foreign ministry Romain Nadal pointed out at a press briefing, adding that his country supports a just and negotiated solution under the aegis of the United Nations and in accordance with the resolutions of the Security Council.
France considers the autonomy plan submitted by Morocco in 2007 as “a serious and credible basis for a negotiated solution,” he said.
