Rabat – Several important structuring projects were launched in Nigeria during the visit paid by King Mohammed VI to this country on December 1-3.
King Mohammed VI and Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, presided over the signing of an agreement between Office Cherifen des Phosphates (OCP) and Dangote Group to build an integrated fertilizer production plant in Nigeria, said a joint communique issued following HM the King’s official visit to Nigeria.
An Agreement on cooperation in strengthening local blending capabilities and the agricultural ecosystem was also signed, the source added.
The two Heads of State agreed to support projects aimed at promoting the socio-economic development of the continent.
“In particular, they agreed to speed up the implementation of the Trans-African Tangiers-Lagos Highway,” the joint communique pointed out.
The two leaders also formally announced the construction of the gas pipeline from Nigeria-Morocco and noted the opportunities involved in the project, the source said, adding that they also took note of the economic benefits derivable from the project when completed especially for the countries that the pipeline will pass through.
