Rabat – The Paraguayan government on Friday welcomed Morocco’s return to the African Union during the 28th Summit of the pan-African organization, held recently in Addis Ababa.

The Republic of Paraguay considers that “the Kingdom of Morocco is a country of great importance for its bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as a key interlocutor within the African continent and the world”, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on its website.

According to the same source, Paraguay recognizes the importance of the integration of countries in multilateral fora as a valuable space for dialogue and the elaboration of agreements favoring peace, development and security in the world.

An overwhelming majority of African countries voted in favor of Morocco’s return to the African Union (AU), during the 28th Summit of African Heads of State and Government, which was held in the Ethiopian capital.
