Madrid – Cooperation with Morocco is “fundamental” in combating terrorism and trafficking in drugs and human beings, said on Wednesday Spanish Interior minister, Juan Ignacio Zoido.
In response to a question in the Congress of Deputies (lower house) on cooperation with Morocco on security matters, Zoido pointed out that ten joint operations were carried out during the last two years in the fight against terrorism, the last of which led to the arrest on October 12th of four Moroccans, two in Spain and two others in Morocco, and the dismantling of two terrorist cells linked to Daesh.
Concerning the fight against drug trafficking, the minister lauded bilateral cooperation in this area and the success of recent joint operations.
