Rabat Hosts 3rd Annual Latino Film Festival

Rabat – Rabat is determined to establish its position as not only an administrative capital but also a cultural capital, with its many festivals and events. As part of this effort, the city is hosting the 3rd Annual Latino Film Festival. This year’s event premiered Thursday.

The festival is the brainchild of the Cervantes Institute, in collaboration with the Spanish-speaking countries who have diplomatic representation in Morocco. This festival aims to exhibit the cinematic works of Spanish speaking countries, said the festival’s director, Javier Galban, in a statement.

Morocco will be an honoured guest in this year’s edition with the screening of the film “Petits bonheur,” which won first prize at the Tangier Festival of Cinema, added Galban. He highlighted that Morocco’s participation is reasonable considering the historic links between the Kingdom and the Hispanic world.

This 3rd Annual Latino Film Festival, on now in Rabat until April 8, will feature films from Venezuela, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Argentina and Chile.
