Rabat – The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and its counterpart of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) signed, Friday in Rabat, a partnership agreement aimed at developing football in Africa.
Signed by presidents of the two federations, Fouzi Lekjaa and Constant Omari Selemani, the agreement is meant to promote cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the two football bodies.
On this occasion, Lekjaa stressed the importance of the signing of such agreements with African countries, in accordance with the vision of HM King Mohammed VI for promising South-South cooperation.
These agreements aim to share the model of development of the Moroccan football, notably with regard to the infrastructure and organizational skills, said Lekjaa, who was recently elected as executive member of CAF in the Northern zone.
For his part, Selemani said that the agreement represents a “historic and decisive turning point” in the development of football in the African continent, notably in terms of the exchange of experience between the two federations.
Selemani, who is the representative of CAF in FIFA, also expressed his support for Morocco’s bid to host the 2026 World CUP.
