Rabat – Ibn Arabi High School, located in El Gharbia, Sidi Bennour organized on Saturday the first edition of its Students’ Talent Show and Inter-Schools Competitions, under the title “Moroccan…Proud to Be.”

The event hosted several activities, including singing, a spelling bee, improvisation, photography and drawing, and public speaking on different topics such as the Green March, Tabourida  and Moroccan costumes.

About 175 students took part in these competitions.

The competition’ first edition was organized in coordination with the Ibn Arabi Youth Club. Juries were made up of several teachers of English and art, namely Hasna Ghouila, Nawal Mardi, Abdelhakim El Maghi, Youness Errachidi, and Abdelali Mounir.

“It was difficult to name winners as the contestants were so enthusiastic, proud, and eager to win the competition,” explained Rachid Benjlil, an English teacher and founder and coordinator of Ibn Arabi Youth Club.

During the event, high-school headmaster Mohamed El Mahboubi delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of such activities and initiatives, which he said provide students with the opportunity to enrich their cultural knowledge and develop their public speaking and linguistic skills.

“The public speaking competition was an opportunity for the attendees to enjoy a trip through Moroccan history, culture, and values,” added Benjlil.
