Rabat – Following speculations that Real Madrid’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will move to Manchester United, the English club’s head coach, Jose Mourinho has expressed his interest in the footballer’s teammate Alvaro Morata, instead of Ronaldo himself.
Ronaldo, who is currently facing four charges of tax fraud in Spain, was reported to want to leave Real Madrid and Spain. International media outlets have heavily linked him to a move to his former team, Manchester United.
According to international media platforms, including British publication The Mirror, Mourinho is keen to sign a Real Madrid striker, but not Ronaldo. The newspaper alleged that the coach is instead desperate to sign Morata.
24-year old Morata is looking for more opportunities since he struggled to make a place with Zinedine Zidane’s team, Real Madrid. Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer a bid of GBP 60 million to sign the footballer.
In a surprising turn of events, Ronaldo is apparently no longer interested in leaving Real Madrid. British news platform The Sun, reported that this was due to the club’s president Florentino Perez supporting Ronaldo in the tax fraud case the footballer currently faces.
