Rabat – King Mohammed VI stressed, on Sunday in Casablanca, the need to “avoid politicizing the social and developmental projects that are being accomplished” or to “exploit them for narrow purposes.”

During the first Ministerial Council of El Othmani’s government chaired by the King this Sunday, the sovereign expressed his “disappointment, discontent and concern” about the delay of the implementation of the projects included in the program Al Hoceima Lighthouse of the Mediterranean.

Abdelouafi Laftit and Mohamed Boussaïd, ministers of the Interior and Finance respectively, were tasked by the King to monitor and audit the situation: “the General Inspectorate of Territorial Administration and the General Inspectorate of Finance IGF, will conduct the necessary investigations and set the responsibilities and issue a report as soon as possible.”

The King also “recalled his High instructions” that “only proposals for financing, studies, clearance of land should be presented to him, with the obligation to launch them as soon as possible,” stated a communique from the Royal Cabinet reported by MAP.

Amid the current situation, the King canceled Ministers’ holidays until “further notice to ensure follow-up of the projects concerned.”
