Rabat – Morocco will face Norway in its final friendly match ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which kicks off on June 11.
The Morocco vs. Norway friendly will take place today at 8 p.m. Moroccan time. Morocco’s national broadcaster has secured exclusive rights to air the game.
Goal predicts Morocco’s lineup will include key players such as Noussair Mazraoui, Nayef Aguerd, Ismael Saibari, Abde Ezzalzouli, and Brahim Diaz, with Yassine Bounou in goal.
Ayoub El Kaabi, Bilal El Khannouss, Achraf Hakimi, and Issa Diop are also among the predicted starters.
As for Norway, Goal expects Erling Haaland to feature alongside Ajer, Heggem, Wolfe, Ryerson, Nusa, and Aursnes.
In addition to Morocco’s sports channel Arryadia, Fubo and ESPN will also broadcast the match.
Morocco has won four of its last five matches, including a victory over Madagascar.
The Atlas Lions are entering the World Cup with determination, with coach Mohamed Ouabi promising that his squad will “achieve great things.”
Morocco now sits seventh in the FIFA world rankings and remains Africa’s highest-ranked national team.
The Atlas Lions are also heading into the global tournament as one of the teams to watch, with many expecting them to reach an advanced stage, especially given their historic run at the 2022 World Cup.
According to Goal, Morocco’s World Cup performance in Qatar made the Atlas Lions “one of the most admired sides in world football, and they head into 2026 with a squad capable of causing problems for anyone in their group.”
Upon his arrival in the United States, Ouahbi told reporters: “We truly hope to make Moroccans proud of their team and proud of being from Morocco. We came with the primary intention of showing that Morocco belongs among football’s great nations.”
Morocco are in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, nd Haiti.
“Morocco will soon be in the thick of the action again, and they will quickly find out whether they can shake up the world order once more as the draw has pitted them against Brazil in a seismic Group C opener in New York New Jersey, before they go on to face Scotland and Haiti,” according to FIFA.
