Rabat – Two Moroccan dental students died at 3 a.m. on Friday morning on a coastal road in the west of the Senegalese capital, Dakar.

Youssef Lotfallah, president of the Association of Moroccan Students in Senegal (AEMS) told Moroccan News Agency (MAP) that the two students were riding a motorcyle at a high speed before they hit the coastal central road that connects the two routes.

Lotfallah went to add that one of the students died instantaneously, while the other student died while en route to Dakar’s main hospital.

Moroccco’s Ministry in Charge of Moroccans Living Abroad and Migration Affairs announced on Friday that it would cover the costs of repatriating the bodies of the students.

Hailing from Safi and Errachida, the two students aged 29 and 30 were on five-year dental program at Senegal’s Cheikh Anta Dop University.

AEMS added approximately 850 students are pursuing their studies in various fields in the country, and medical-related studies were particular popular.
