Rabat – Mohammed Hassad, Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research has stated that the ministry is working to stop the trade of drugs in Moroccan schools.
The ministry intends to launch an initiative throughout Morocco’s schools in order to combat the trafficking of hallucinogenic drugs as well as their consumption at schools.
During a meeting at Hec Paris School in Casablanca, Hassad told news platform Hespress that his department will take strict measures to end drug trafficking starting in the 2017-2018 school year.
“We have adopted an integrated strategy where we work with all the parties involved to put an end to this phenomenon, which threatens students in educational institutions,” said the minister.
The minister also discussed plans to improve Morocco’s educational system. He added that he is very optimistic about the possibility of reforming the educational system.
Hassad has also expressed his ambitions to modernize teaching methods through the support for the use technology at schools. He also said that there will be also continuous training programs for the benefit of teachers.
