High civilian officials and high ranking officers of the Moroccan army, including Brigadier General Mustapha Zghayou, commander of the Tafilate region, took part in the funeral.
A message of condolences to the family of the deceased, sent by King Mohammed VI, supreme Army Chief and Chief of Staff of Moroccan Royal Armed Forces, was read out.
After the funeral prayer, the deceased Master Corporal was buried. The funeral attendees prayed for the soul of the Kabouz and implored God “to accept him among his martyrs.”
Kabouz, Master Corporal Hicham Amaharit, and Sergent Mohamed Ait Said were killed in Bangassou, CAR on July 23 and 25 in two separate ambushes by the militia of Anti-Balaka.
The three peacekeeper of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) were among the Moroccan contingent accompanying a humanitarian mission carrying water to increase levels of the nearby Mbomou river.
