Rabat – Malaysian police managed to rescue a 19-year-old Moroccan woman held captive and forced to be a sex slave by a human trafficking gang in Kuala Lumpur, according to Malaysian news daily The Star Online.
On July 26, the young Moroccan girl landed in Malaysia. What she thought of as an opportunity to work at a beauty parlour soon turned into a hellish nightmare, as she was detained and sexually abused in a house in Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur.
According to The Star Online, the girl managed to seek help from a fiend in Malaysia, and was finally rescued on August 19 after being repeatedly raped by the gang, which seems to be of Sudanese origins.
The primary suspect in the case is a 59-year-old Sudanese man, who promised to victim a work contract in the aforementioned beauty parlour. Malaysian authorities managed to arrest the man in question, in addition to another suspect, a 56-year-old Sudanese man.
According to the local authorities, the suspects claimed they imprisoned the girl because she was not familiar with the country, reports the Star Online.
“The girl was sexually abused almost every day and they treated her as a sex slave,” a police official told the news website.
For the time being, no further details have been communicated by the Malaysian authorities or the Moroccan consulate in the Asian country. The state of the victim and her medical and psychological state are still unknown, as well as if she managed to return to Morocco.
