Rabat – A Moroccan expat in Germany has accused a fish restaurant in the port of Agadir of taking advantage of its clients, saying it jacked up the price of meals.
The incident, which took place on July 28, was related by Al Jaliya Al Maghribia Facebook, which posted a picture of the Moroccan immigrant and his family along with his version of the story.
The immigrant said he went to Agadir’s port to eat a fish meal and, upon asking one of the restaurants there about the price of a meal for five people, he was told the price is 75 DH.
When they finished eating, the Moroccan expat said he was asked by the restaurant’s manager to pay 900 DH.
“Because my mother suffers from heart problems and depression I didn’t want to cause her more health problems by getting into an argument with restaurant’s manager,” said the expat
He added that he was forced to pay MAD 775, ending his post with a warning to others not to fall in a similar trap.
“This is why tourism in Morocco is regressing and people are fleeing the country,” he said.
