FIFA Nominates Ronaldo, Neymar, Messi as Finalists for Best Men’s Player Award

Rabat – International football superstars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar Santos have been nominated as the official finalists for the Best FIFA Men’s Player Award for the third consecutive year.

The FIFA prizes will be given to the footballers on October 23 at the London Palladium Theater.

Ronaldo helped his team, Real Madrid, win both the Spanish league and Champions League, while Barcelona’s key forward Messi and former Barcelona attacker Neymar managed to win the Copa Del Rey title with Barcelona.

In August, Neymar left Barcelona for Paris Saint German (PSG), a decision which shocked both Barcelona’s fans and the team for awhile.

Several international sports outlets, reported that Neymar had left Barcelona in order to increase his chances of winning more football prizes, including the Ballon d’Or prize. Jérémy Mathieu, former Barcelona footballer told RMC sports outlet that “I think he left Barcelona to try to win the Ballon d’Or, because he was a little bit second to Leo Messi there. It was difficult for him there, and that’s why I think he left.”

In 2016, Ronaldo was given the Best FIFA Men’s Player Award.
