Rabat – Morocco has seen a remarkable surge in tourism, with nearly 2.7 million arrivals recorded at border posts by the end of February, a 24% increase compared to 2024.
This growth represents 521,000 additional visitors, with particularly strong performance from key source markets, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism.
For the second consecutive month in 2025, the country has posted record numbers. This shows its continued rise as a top global tourism destination.
February alone saw almost 1.4 million arrivals, marking a 22% increase, or 248,000 more visitors, compared to the same month last year.
This positive trend is driven by both foreign tourists, who increased by 18% (+119,000 entries), and Moroccans living abroad, whose numbers grew by 26% (+130,000 entries).
Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, pointed out: “Adding half a million visitors in just two months underlines Morocco’s place among the world’s leading destinations.”
She continued, “Every visitor who chooses Morocco plays a direct role in boosting our regions’ economies, creating jobs, and supporting youth inclusion. This growth benefits the entire ecosystem and reflects the ongoing success of Morocco’s tourism strategy.”
Morocco has surpassed its tourism target by reaching 17.4 million visitors by the end of 2024, two years ahead of the original 2026 goal.
As tourism continues to emerge as a cornerstone of the Moroccan economy, the Ministry of Tourism and the Moroccan Tourism Office (ONMT) have pledged to further develop and revamp the sector.
Through a range of initiatives, including collaborations with global travel agencies and airlines, Morocco strives to keep its streak of attracting tourists both organically and through strategic partnerships.
