Rabat – A video showing a restaurant owner cutting down a palm tree with a buzz-saw on a busy street in Marrakech has sparked outrage on Moroccan social media.
The footage, filmed by an unidentified witness, shows the man casually cutting a palm tree in front of his property without having set up any kind of precaution beforehand.
People yell at the man while he saws away at the tree, but he continues until the tree falls, landing on the roof of a passing car.
Moroccan news outlets have suggested that the man will face charges for both destroying public property and endangering lives of others.
