Rabat – The video shows the moment when King Mohammed VI called Morocco’s head coach, Hervé Renard, and his captain Mehdi Benatia following the national team’s qualification for the World Cup on Saturday in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
Renard, who appears very emotional and humbled by the phone call, thanked the King for all what he has done help him secure this long-awaited qualification to the World Cup.
Following the game between the Moroccan football team and its Ivorian counterpart, King Mohammed VI extended his heartfelt congratulations to the team members for qualifying to the 2018 World Cup.
The monarch talked over the phone with coach Hervé Renard and captain Mehdi Benatia to whom he expressed his happiness for this big achievement.
The King also congratulated the team members and the technical and administrative staff who did their best to achieved such a win.
Lauding the excellent performance of the Moroccan players, the King commended the exceptional sports spirit of the Moroccan supporters who have encouraged their team with unparalleled enthusiasm, representing in the best way the Moroccan youth.
