Rabat – Police in Nador have dismantled a major international drug ring and detained seven individuals who were in possession of 12 tons of hashish.
DGSN officers also inspected the home of one of the suspects at Douar Laababda in Driouch province.
As reported by Al Massae in its November 17 edition, DGSN believes that the drugs were intended to be exported out of Morocco.
The daily added that DGSN members seized a hunting rifle and 13 rounds of ammunition from the home, as well as MAD 115,000. The investigation also resulted in the seizure of eight cars bearing false license plates, one of which was stolen from abroad.
A further police inspection of a second house connected to another detained suspect led to the confiscation of more than 15,000 packs of contraband cigarettes, as well as six tons of fuel stored in plastic containers.
