Rabat - Egyptian actress and singer Fatema Shaker, known by her stage name Shadia, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 86, after being hospitalized for a brain stroke earlier this month.
Rabat – Egyptian actress and singer Fatema Shaker, known by her stage name Shadia, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 86, after being hospitalized for a brain stroke earlier this month.
During the 40 years of her career, “Egyptian Cinema’s Sweetheart” was featured in over 112 movies, plays, and radio shows. She has enjoyed a large fan base among in the Arab world since the 1960s.
She was famous for her roles in comedies and drama in the 1950s and 1960s. She first appeared in the el-Aql Fi Agaza (The Mind on Vacation), and retired after her last film La Tas’alni Man Ana (Don’t Ask Me Who I Am).
