Rabat – Fodor’s Travel Guide, the world’s largest and professional travel guide book, has ranked Marrakech on the top of its “Travel Go List for 2018.”

Based on its romantic charm, reflecting both authenticity and modernity, Marrakech made it to the top of the list ahead of 51 other renowned touristic destinations all over the world.

“This romantic desert oasis is set to be one of 2018’s most fashionable vacations,” Fodor’s said.

“Despite all of the recent calamity and horrors – both natural and manmade – this really is a magical world that deserves to be explored,” said Jeremy Tarr, the editorial director of Fodors.com. “We focused on celebrating and surfacing that wonder as we assembled this year’s lists.”

In its introductory page, Fodor’s Travel said, “Marrakesh is a dreamy maze of spice-scented streets filled with vendors, cafes, and hidden palaces.”

Given its alleyways and winding labyrinths full of home-made crafts, Marrakech is “a city full of secrets and the best way to explore it is by getting lost.”

“You never know what you’re going to stumble upon—a livestock market, a secret garden, an organic rooftop cafe, or an ancient shop filled with handmade treasures,” the travel guide added.

Marrakech is one of the most famous cities in Morocco and all over the world, featuring a variety of amazing attractions which please tourists of all kinds.

Apart from its well-known Jamaa El-Fna square, with its exotic and magic festival-like atmosphere, Marrakech is home to many other places that fascinate visitors.

The editors of Fodor’s website list some must-see places in the ochre city, including “the lush Jardin Majorelle, outside the walls of the city center, is a respite from the sensory overload of the medina.”

Fodor’s editors added that “La Bahia Palace and Ali Ben Youssef Medersa are a step back in time through Marrakech’s royal past, with breathtaking architecture and attention to detail.”

For 80 years, Fodor’s Travel has been a trusted resource offering expert travel advice for every stage of a traveler’s trip.
