Rabat – Authorities in Marrakech’s Menara airport arrested on Tuesday night a British national, who was a subject of an international search warrant for his involvement in an international drug trafficking ring.
The 39-year old suspect was arrested after arriving in Morocco through flight from Doha. His arrest comes as a result of an international security cooperation, said a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) ).
According to the statement, the defendant was the subject of an international search warrant issued in 2014 by France.
The suspect was placed in police custody for further investigation under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office. Investigations are underway to determine possible suspects involved in drug trafficking rings.
