Rabat – The accident severely damaged the front of the tramway. Seven people including the driver sustained minor injuries. All the injured passengers were immediately transported to the nearest hospital.
The traffic on the line was halted in order for the technical team to put the tram back on the rail and enable a progressive recovery of the circulation of the tramways.
Considering the gravity of the derailment, the technical team took approximately 3 to 4 hours to finish the task.
