King Mohammed VI Welcomes Foreign Ambassadors to Morocco, Including US Envoy

Rabat – King Mohammed VI received the newly appointed American ambassador to Morocco David Fischer at the royal palace in Rabat today, January 22.

The US diplomat met this morning with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita, who received his credentials to officially begin duties in Rabat.

“US-Morocco relations are historic, strategic, and growing,” the ambassador stated.

Fischer added that he looks forward to strengthening the partnership between Morocco and the US in order to enhance the prosperity and security of the two countries.

In addition to the US ambassador, the King also received credentials from other foreign envoys.

The full list of ambassadors who handed credentials to the monarch is as follows:

Hasrul Azwar, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia,

Maria Del Pilar Gomez Valderrama, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia,

Hamid Asghar Khan, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,

The monarch also received Tran Quoc Thuy, Ambassador of Vietnam, and Baba Garba, Ambassador of Nigeria, marking the end of their missions in the Kingdom.

The King awarded the Alawite Wissam of the Order of Grand Officer to Tran Quoc Thuy, and the Alawite Wissam of the Order of Commander to Baba Garba.
