Rabat – Many Palestinian and Jordanian personalities have commended Morocco’s initiative to send urgent humanitarian aids to Palestine as per the instructions of King Mohammed VI. Expressing appreciation and gratitude, the personalities viewed the initiative as a reflection of Morocco’s steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause.

Declaring their gratitude to the Jordanian news website, Madar Alsaa, the personalities said that the humanitarian support runs in parallel with Morocco’s political efforts to assist the Palestinian people.

Abbas Zaki, a member of Fatah’s central committee and responsible for the Arab-Chinese relations within the same committee, commended Morocco for dispatching the humanitarian aid for Palestine that arrived at Amman airport on Sunday. The aid contained foodstuffs, blankets, and medicines.

Zaki noted that the initiative reflects “the principled and official position of King Mohammed VI — in his capacity as chairman of the Al Quds Committee — that the Moroccan people also express towards the Palestinian people and their cause.”

The Jordanian parliamentarian and lawyer, Mohamad Al Hajouj Al Dawamiya, said that the aid is “further proof of Morocco’s permanent and unconditional position for the triumph of the Palestinians.”

Al Dawamiya added that Morocco has long supported the Palestinian people through the Bayt Mal Al Quds to secure medical, food, and financial aid in addition to creating field hospitals. The support, he continued, was also political, especially in international forums.

Raja Talab, a journalist for the mainstream daily Al Rai and contributor to several Arab websites, said that it comes as no surprise that Morocco is “the first Arab state to send aid aiming at strengthening the resilience of the Palestinians.”

Morocco has always shown firm support to the Palestinian cause, he said, stressing that the country spares no efforts “on the political and diplomatic level and is using its relations and the international respect it enjoys to support the Palestinian cause in all forums.”

The journalist concluded his remarks by commending the country’s firm support and peaceful efforts for the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Al Quds as its capital.
